William E. Hutchinson

"William E. Hutchinson, 81, of Chauncey Walker St., died Wednesday, October 20 at home surrounded by family. Born in Medford, MA, October 25, 1928, he was the son of Thomas M. and Charlotte (Newton) Hutchinson. He lived in Derry, NH for many years before moving to Belchertown in 1966. A career military man, Bill spent 40 years in the Air Force, both in Civil Service and the Reserves. He also enjoyed many years of traveling throughout the United States with his wife and they were members of the Carriage Travel Club. As an avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and woodcutting. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Frances A. (Jones) Hutchinson in 2009. He will be deeply missed by his five children, Janet Girouard (Leo) , Robert B. (Amy) and Barry D. (Stella), all of Belchertown, W. David (partner Cindy Goss) of Pelham, and Susan Hutchinson of Ware, along with his 12 precious grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He also leaves his 3 brothers Roy Hutchinson of Canterbury, NH, Kenneth Hutchinson of FL, and Warren Roberts of Sandown, NH. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 26 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial with military honors in South Cemetery.
