William John, Jr.

William John Jr, (81), of Hilton Head, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024 with his wife by his side. William, known as Bill, Willy, or Grandpa Buddy by his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, was born on August 14, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. Bill was an educator, administrator, coach, and mentor for the Brentwood Public School system in New York until he retired in June of 1997. Bill enjoyed golf, boating, and traveling. Bill had a special gift connecting with people and could always put a smile on your face. He loved spending the winter months in Moss Creek, South Carolina, and the summer months at Silver Lake in Perry, New York with friends and neighbors. Bill is survived by his wife; Barbara and their three sons; Bill (Renee), Brian (Kelly), and Robert (Danielle). He is also survived by his sister; Rosemary John, sister-in-law; Randy(John) Jones, along with his many beloved nieces and nephews. Grandchildren, Billy, Sara, Kristin, Gabrielle, Gretchen, Tyler, Hailey, Zach, Cassie, Olivia, Hanna, and Isabelle. Great grandchildren, Paxton, Millie, Amelia, Elliott, Emmett, and Ember. He was predeceased by his parents; William Sr. and Helen, brother; Christopher, and sister; Deborah. The family will host a celebration of life in Hilton Head on a date in the near future.
