William (Bill) Johnston William Johnston passed away peacefully on January 28, 2010, in Tucson, AZ after a long illness. Bill, as he was known by all, was born in Endicott, NY to Charles and Clara Johnston on July 7, 1928. He grew up in Endicott and in 1951, he married Geraldine (Jeri) Liberatore. They lived in NY until 1966, and then transferred with IBM to Vermont. In 1979 they relocated with IBM to Tucson. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeri. He is survived by his children, Christine Brock and her husband Thomas of Milton, VT, William "Bill" Johnston and his wife, Sandy of Tucson, AZ and Charles Joseph (Joe) Johnston and his wife, Sheryl of Essex Junction, VT. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren with whom he shared many happy times, Justin Charles Brock, Jennifer Lynn Brock, Kyle Joseph Johnston, Sara Johnston, Brandi Lea Johnston and Kasey Jo Johnston. He also leaves his brothers, Russell and Victor Johnston of Santa Barbara, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Beverly McDonough. Bill was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed routing for the Arizona Wildcat basketball team. A private service is planned at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 3201 E. Presidio Rd. on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Another service for family and friends to be held this summer at the family camp at "Kings Cove" on the Lake Champlain in St. Albans, VT. Bill and Jeri and their family spent many happy summers there with friends where Bill could be seen each morning doing his walk around the beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to Desert Sunset Funeral Home (297-9007).
