William "Bill" E. Karns

William E (Bill) Karns. February 4, 1935 – December 19, 2021 Bill was born in Washington DC to William and Annette (nee’ Wren) Karns. The family later moved to Detroit, MI where Bill grew up on the east side and graduated from Denby High School. After graduation Bill began his career in sales and construction. His engaging personality and sense of humor contributed to a very successful career. Bill relocated to Florida in 1979 and resumed his construction and development businesses, which continue to grow and are led by the second and third generations of family. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Seminole Rotary. He enjoyed golf and travel, and had a special affinity for Boquette, Panama. He was also an avid fan and a season ticket holder for the Tampa Bay Lightning, from their inception until his health prevented him from attending games. Bill is survived by his four children: Lynn (Mike) Brown, Lori Karns, William (Diane) Karns, Casey (Aaron) Karns-Van Lieshout, and by stepchildren: Martha (Andres) Cloutier, Martin (Stacey) Cloutier, Matthew Cloutier, and Melinda Chapman. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Natalie (Sean) Corbett, Joshua (Jona) Brown, Nicole Karns and Paige Karns, and was preceded in death by his grandson William (LB) Karns. Step-grandchilden: Breno Dobal, Heidi Whitley, Erik Karing, and Jennifer Murley, and many great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. A memorial will be held to celebrate his life on Friday February 4, 2022 at 4:30 pm at ROC Park’s Recreation Center located at 200 Rex Place, Madeira Beach, Florida 33708.
