William Lee Knight
August 27th, 1941 - August 2nd, 2014
Mr. William Lee Knight Jr. "Sleepy", 72, of Greensboro, died Saturday, August 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church, on Scalesville Road, Summerfield, with the Elder David Minter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Knight was born August 27, 1941 in Guilford County, to William and Miriam Settlemeyer Knight. He served in the National Guard and was a Professional Land Surveyor. He was in the last graduating class of 52 students, at Summerfield High School. He went to Mars Hill College and had a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia. He served as Elder to Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church as well as to New Hope in Reidsville, Mechanicsville in High Point and Snow Creek in Lawsonville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Knight was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaylee Renee Knight. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Martha Whitley Knight; daughter, Tracey Knight Chandler; son, William Christopher Knight (Cindy); sisters, Annette Knight and Carolyn Knight; brothers, Frank Knight (Jackie), Philip Knight, and James Knight (Debbie); grandchildren, Brooke Knight, Allyson Knight, and Mary Chandler; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
