William "Bill" Lopez

William Matthew Lopez was born in Denver, Colorado to Pauline (Martinez) and Benjamin Lopez and was raised in Platteville, Colorado, where he attended school. At the time of his death he resided in Centennial, Colorado and is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn. He is also survived by his two sons Matthew Lopez of Denver and Mitchell (Tasha) Lopez of Aurora, Three granddaughters Caitlin (Josh) Moore, Kenzi Kaplan and Olivia Lopez, and two great-grandaughters Alaina and Alexa Moore. He also leaves behind a Brother Dale (Alice) Lopez and a Sister Donna (David) Sandoval and Sister-in-Law Carol Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ken. He graduated from Valley High School in 1963. He began his trade as a draftsman after high school working creating maps for the Oil and Gas Industry. Following the Oil Bust of the 1980s, he then pursued several other career ventures, the last being a courier with H. M. Brown Bill, was an avid sports fan. He was a baseball pitcher in high school and once threw a no hitter. He shared his love of baseball by becoming a youth baseball coach. He coached 6 year olds to 16 year olds. After coaching, he became a baseball and softball umpire, as well as a basketball and football referee. He was also an avid bowler and fisherman. He had a zest for life and his love for his Lord and family, added to the charismatic person he became. He knew no strangers and was a friend to everyone he met.
