LUESCHEN, William Joseph, 72, of Tampa, passed away May 18, 2013. A New Jersey Native, he was the founder of Pel Associates Inc. in North Branch, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Lueschen; two sisters, Betty Smith, and Bobbi (Lee) Varettoni; extended family and friends. Bill will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Heart Transplant Support Group Inc., 182 Conover Road, West Windsor, NJ 08550. Memorial services will be held in New Jersey at a future date. Detailed information will be posted as soon as possible. The following is a letter sent to all associates by Allan S. Lalwani, President of American Spraytech: "Dear All, It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you know that Bill Lueschen, American Spraytech's Director of R&D and original founder of the business under PEL Associates, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Tampa, Fl. Bill suffered a heart failure after a prolonged bout with pneumonia. He was 72. Bill is survived by his wife, Beverly, and his two sisters Bobby and Betty. Bill Lueschen retired from PEL Associates in 1999 after selling the company which he set up in 1981 along with his partner Bob Swiatecki. When American Spraytech acquired the plant operations in 2003, Bill Lueschen came out of retirement and rejoined the business, managing the R&D lab as well as heading the company's new business development efforts. He returned to his home in Tampa after five years in NJ, but not before fully educating the lab chemists and the entire staff on the intricacies of the aerosol business. Prior to PEL, Bill Lueschen served as Manager, R&D at American Home Products. He was the Aerosol expert for all divisions including Wyeth Ayerst Labs and Whitehall Labs where he formulated hairsprays, depilatories, shave cream, etc. Bill developed world famous aerosol products such as Wizard Air-Freshener, Easy Off Oven Cleaner, Easy On Starch, Woolite Rug Cleaner, and many more. He held the patent for developing the enormously successful Pam Cooking Spray. Bill Lueschen was also a member of various committees at the CSPA, and served as a board member of its Consumer Specialties Insurance affiliate. Bill Lueschen will be remembered as one of the few and brilliant pioneers of the aerosol business in the United States. Personally, Bill was an invaluable mentor to me. He was the perfect gentleman, and a straight shooter. We will dearly miss his insights and amazing instincts for every aspect of business and life. So that the legacy of this great American entrepreneur and human being lives on in our memories for a very long time, we dedicate the main headquarters offices at American Spraytech in his name, the William J Lueschen building. May his soul rest in peace. Allen S. Lalwani President American Spraytech"
