William Simpson Maddox
December 25th, 1936 - February 8th, 2019
William Simpson Maddox William S. Maddox, our beloved brother Billy passed away, at the age of 82 years-old, on Friday February 8, 2019 in Federal Way, Washington. He was born December 25, 1936 in Collins, Arkansas. Billy was a Christmas baby who grew up in Spokane, Washington and graduated from John R. Roger High School. He moved to San Jose and continued his education and boxing and was a member of the 1959 champion San Jose State University NCAA College Boxing team. He entered the service and served in Europe where he continued boxing. He later returned to school while working full time and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, California. Billy’s hobby was music and he loved to sing karaoke. He never married, however he spent his life connecting with others through his love of talking and singing. He is survived by three brothers, Nathan Maddox, Roscoe Maddox (Bernice) Leon Maddox (Liliane) and a number of nieces and nephews. He introduced his nieces to the delicacy of Haagen Das French Vanilla ice cream. A grave service will be conducted Tuesday February 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington Arrangements by Edwards Memorial, Funerals Homes, Chapels and Crematories. 253-566-1008
