William Albert Maidment, 94, of St. Hwy. 29A Gloversville passed away Sept. 22, 2019 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born July 28, 1925 the son of William C. and Ina Maidment. Mr. Maidment graduated from Gloversville High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Emeron Maneth, J. Perrella Leather and #106 Corp of Operations Engineers. He was a member of the D.A.V., the Mason-Masonic Lodge #429, and a member of the #106 Corp Operating Engineers by whom he was recognized for 65 years of service. Mr. Maidment is survived by his four daughters Sally Gieseler (Edward) of Hagaman, Susan Quick (Lee) of Gastonia, N.C., Sheila Ellis (James) of Gloversville and Sheri Caseau (David) of Vineyard Haven, Mass. and their families; two stepsons Ronald and Richard Springstead and their families. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Shirley Fraiser Maidment, who passed away August 15,1997; his second wife Bettye Springstead Maidment, who passed away December 11, 2016; daughter Sandra Maidment, sister Jayne Russell and brother Douglas Maidment. Cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 1:00pm at the North Main Street United Methodist Church, 316 N. MIn St: Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church or charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
