Obituary William 'Bill' James Marks, age 76 passed away on May 22, 2014 at home after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Bill was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served on nuclear submarines for 10 years, a vibrant New York City bartender and then worked at the Air Force Academy, most recently at the community center library, for the past 28 years. Bill was born on January 22, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to William and Mary (Durkin) Marks. He married Patricia on July 2, 1960 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Following his service in the Navy, Bill and Pat resided in New York City, in Wilkes-Barre, and then relocated to Colorado in 1985. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Pat, by his parents and by a brother, Martin. He is survived by stepson Ed and wife Joy Smith, grandchildren Jill and Bill Foster and Marc and Julie Smith, and great grandchildren Nathaniel and Noelle Foster and Kendyl Smith, and by nephew Matthew Marks and wife Susan.
