William "Bill" Halsey Maynard

William "Bill" Halsey Maynard passed away peacefully on September 24, 2017. He was 88 years old. Bill was born in Port Chester, NY on September 27, 1928 to William and Nilla (White) Maynard. He served in the Army as a medic during the Korean War. After he was discharged, he obtained advanced training in radiology technology and went on to work as a radiology department manager and later, in nuclear medicine imaging equipment sales. Bill loved to be with people and was a caregiver to all who needed it. He was an avid University of Miami Hurricanes Fan and a patriotic citizen. Bill was preceded in death by his former wife, Jean B Maynard and son, Bruce Maynard. He is survived by his son, Scott (Xiaoquing Lu) Maynard; daughter, Laura (Steven Lach) Maynard; daughter-in-law, Deb; grandchildren, Kevin, Rebecca Jean, Caitlin and Meghan; and close friends. A Memorial Service with Army Honors will take place on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd., Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
