William "Bo" D. McAllister, 65, died January 4, 2020 at home in Colorado Springs surrounded by his family. Bo passed away after an almost two year battle with two extremely rare and aggressive cancers. He was born May 14, 1954 in New Jersey to William and Sara Teressa (Corson). Bo attended the University of Maryland as an undergraduate studying Criminal Justice. He started work with the FBI in Washington DC before transitioning to the Metropolitan Police Department. Over his 28 year career, Bo served in numerous positions to include Patrol, Harbor Patrol, Aviation, Joint Terrorism Task Force, Warrant Squad, and the Homicide Unit. He was a first responder at the Pentagon during the September 11th attacks. Bo retired in August 2006. In June of 2006, Bo and his family relocated to Colorado Springs. He joined CSPD (Colorado Springs Police Department) as a Community Service Officer (CSO). Bo helped develop the CSO program over his roughly ten years until retiring. In 2008 Bo began volunteering as an EMT at Wescott Fire Dept. He was elected as a member of the Board of Directors shortly after. In 2016, Bo was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, where he served until present. He met his wife of 32 years, Karen (Cohen) McAllister in 1985. Together they had two daughters, Dr. Nicole McAllister (age 31) and Shana Morris (age 29). He is also survived by their three grandchildren, Connor (age 10), Kinsey (age 8), and Kaydee (age 4).
