January 19th, 1944 - March 4th, 2021
William A. McDermott, of Woodbury, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the age of 77. Legacy Bill was born and raised in Philadelphia. He graduated from the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. While there he played for the school football team and developed lifelong friendships. After graduation, he worked in the printing industry until retirement. He loved all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles, and mostly loved spending time with his granddaughter. He enjoyed going to the casinos and was an avid bowler. Bill met the love of his life, Barbara, in 1972. He said he felt like the luckiest man alive to have met her. Bill had a great sense of humor and always greeted everyone with his warm smile. Family Beloved husband of 47 years to Barbara (McGann) McDermott and loving father of Dr. Brian McDermott; devoted grandfather of Ruby McDermott; cherished brother of Patricia Runner and dear brother-in-law of Eileen Pickering and Denise McGann. Son of the late Hygeia and William McDermott. Also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Mass will take place at Infant of Jesus Parish at St. Margaret’s Church, 3rd & Beech Street, Woodbury Hts., NJ 08097 on Saturday March 13, 2021 at 11 am.
