William "Bill" Hugh McKee

November 19th, 1926 - January 31st, 2021

William (Bill) Hugh McKee was born on November 19, 1926 and died January 31, 2021 after a brief period with medical issues led to heart failure. Bill was born in Los Angeles and lived both in Southern and Northern California during his childhood and as an adult, before moving to Oregon in 1990. He graduated from UC Berkeley and while there met his wife Marion. They were married in 1949, raised two children and enjoyed a long happy life together until Marion's passing in 2018. Bill went to work for Liberty Mutual in 1949 and enjoyed a career there until his retirement in 1990. His retirement was always filled with new activities. An avid gardener, he earned his Master Gardener certification in order to help others learn the joys of creating a beautiful yard. He was very active in his church, St James of Tigard, where he and Marion were active members for 30 years. He served on various committees and boards for the many organizations he was part of over the years, giving his time to help others and making great friends along the way. But his greatest joy was his family--daughters and sons-in law, grandchildren and grandchildren-in law and great grandchildren. His was a life filled with service, intellectual curiosity, kindness and generosity, but most of all love. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Unfortunately, because of covid restrictions, his funeral service will be for immediate family only. Donations in his memory may be to the organization of your choice assisting with animal rescue or food insecurity.
