Pearson, William L. ?Bill,? 81, of Treasure Island, died Saturday November 25, 2006 at James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa. He was a native of St. Petersburg and a 1943 graduate of St. Petersburg High School and graduate of the University of Florida. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict and then joined the Army Reserves where he served for 19 years and retired as a Captain. He taught Shop at Diston Junior High School, Boca Ciega High School and Gibbs High School. He was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church and was involved with the Curcillio movement and was an Usher for many years. He was a member of the Sierra Club and the St. Petersburg Civitan Club. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rickey M.; two sons: Max Pearson, Tallahassee, FL; and Art Zammit, Jacksonville, FL; four daughters: Holly Combs and Debbie Barber, both of St. Petersburg; Jackie Owens, Orlando, FL; and Tina Slayzak, Brandon, FL; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
