It is with deep sadness that the family of William Joseph Plummer (Billy Joe) shares the news of his unexpected passing on his 77th birthday, September 24, 2023, in Caldwell, ID, with his beloved wife, Diane, by his side. Billy Joe was born September 24, 1946, in Kellogg, ID, the son of William Nuke and Melba Faye Plummer. He was raised in Wallace, ID and attended Wallace High School and Sunset High School, in California. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country from 1962 until 1965, during which he served two tours of duty in Vietnam earning a multiple Purple Hearts. Upon his return to the U.S. Billy Joe married Diane Luckey on December 31, 1968, a blessed union of 55 years. Together Billy Joe and Diane raised three children, Tabetha, Angela & Joseph. Their lives were filled with unexpected adventures living in Washington, California, Oregon, Alaska & Idaho. A hardworking man, Billy Joe’s career included a variety of positions with warehouses and car dealerships, eventually retiring due to multiple military disabilities. Billy Joe is survived by his wife, Diane, his children and their spouses, Tabetha and Casey Hatfield, Angela and Thomas Kramer, Joseph and Kelsey Plummer, and their grandchildren, Zac and Tiffany Hatfield, Gloria, Eli and Liam Kramer, and Ameila and Rhys Plummer. He also leaves behind his siblings, Michael Plummer, Melba Gust and Candy Gilmore and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Mark. A Celebration of Life is planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Billy Joe’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
