Memorial

William Andrew Pollock, Jr. (Andy) of Port St. John left this earth on Monday, October 14, 2013. He was 64 years old. He was a loving husband and soul mate to Deborah, his wife of 30 years and the extremely proud father of daughter, Erin Rachel Pollock. To anyone who knew Andy knew him as an easy going, quiet man, who always had a smile on his face. He was a gracious and kind person and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. In 2006, he became permanently disabled and had to retire from work as an licensed electrician. He had been working at the Holiday Inn in Cocoa Beach for 22 years. During these past years of his disability he lived his quiet life with dignity and honor, always making the best of his situation without complaint. He was the joy in our hearts and we will miss his strength and love forever. Andy was an Army Vietnam veteran who served with the 101st Airborne and 1st Infantry from 1967 to 1970. After Vietnam, he suffered with PTSD which continued until his death. He worked overseas building homes and schools for children and families in need in Haiti and Costa Rica. Then worked various jobs until he moved to Cocoa Beach in the early 1980's. He loved the beach and surf fishing and the solitary tranquility that living on the beach offered. We lost this outstanding man way too early due to cancer, but we couldn't have asked for a better person to have in our lives. Our little family had it all because we had each other and our strong, unconditional love for one another. He was truly "one of a kind." To his daughter, Erin, he was not just her father, but her rock, her mentor and her inspiration for how to be as a person. He was her angel on earth and is now one of God's angels in heaven. His parents Jo Nell Burks and William A. Pollock, Sr. have preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Sherry Kaiser of Cocoa Beach. Brothers, James Burks and Benny Burks of Kentucky, and Brian Pollock of Tennessee. No funeral services are scheduled. If you knew him take a moment to remember him, that's all he wanted. He would tell you he was ready and had a good life. Revelations 21:4 - And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be any more pain: For the former things are passed away.
