none William D. Rearick was born February 21, 1928 in Warren, Ohio, the son of William D. and Martha Puffer Rearick, and sister to Roberta Jean. The family attended the Free Methodist Church in Warren (a commute of seven miles from their home in Niles). The children both graduated from McKinley High School in Niles. They both attended Greenville College, Illinois and graduated in 1948 with Bachelor of Arts degrees. At Greenville, Bill met Ida Mae Devore. They were married in Minneapolis in 1948 and traveled to Los Angeles Pacific College and High School for their first employment. Their son, William III, was born in Glendale. In 1952 they moved to Central College, McPherson, Kansas for two years of service. Their daughter, Pamela was born in Kansas. Bill and Ida Mae returned to LAPC in 1954 where he was principal of the high school department until 1960 when they moved to Seattle Pacific College. There he served in numerous capacities in the schools of Education and Humanities, and in administration until his retirement in 1991. Bill completed a M.A. at Los Angeles State University and the Ed. D. at the University of Washington. His dissertation focused on children's responses to moral values in literature. His great joys were sharing stories with children, reading the Bible aloud, and entertaining family and friends in their home. Ida Mae preceded Bill in death. They were members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Olympia. Bill is survived by his children, a son-in-law, four grandchildren, a grand-son-in-law, two great grandchildren, his sister and brother-in-law, two adopted daughters and one adopted granddaughter. Bill and Ida Mae considered the many across the years who were added to their family 'ohana as gifts of love from God. WESTMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1925 Boulevard Rd. SE, OLYMPIA, WA 98801.
