William "Billy" Scalise, 63, of Wagner Street, Fort Plain died peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 29, 1952 in Utica, NY he was the son of Delores Darling Scalise and the late Philp James Scalise. Billy attended schools in Whitesboro, NY and always enjoyed being the life of the party. His smile was infectious and loved being around people and adored his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife Cathy Servatius Scalise; his mother and her husband, Delores and Hal Hughes of Whitesboro, NY; his children, Eric Scalise and his wife Courtney of Grapevine, TX, Carrie Smith and her husband Curtis of Fort Plain, NY; three grandchildren, Estee, Silas and Jaymes Smith; his siblings, Bonnie and John Temple of Whitesboro, NY, Patti and Bill Criss of Whitesboro, NY, Fred Scalise (Mary Jo) of Ohio, NY, Joe and Renee Scalise of Rome, NY, Philip Scalise (Janet Slaga) of Deerfield, NY and Lori and Adam Misiaszek of Oriskany Falls, NY; numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 1p.m. at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. Burial will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery.
