Memorial

William Jeff Souther, age 75, died of cancer in Denver, Colorado on February 17, 2018. Born March 29, 1942 in Aurora, Colorado, Bill was a brilliant mechanic, a U.S. Army veteran, and the best friend a cat ever had. Bill had numerous hobbies and interests including restoring old cars and trucks, collecting, reading, studying astronomy and playing Scrabble. By far, it was his love of trains for which he was best known. As an avid collector of all manner of things related to railroads, one of Bill’s railway luggage carts from the early 1900’s has been donated to the Rocky Mountain Railroad Heritage Society, where it will be displayed as part of the restoration of the Calhan, Colorado train station. Other pieces of Bill’s vast collection will find their way to various railroad and transportation museums as well. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Roosevelt Souther and Fannie Spiva Souther, originally of Blairsville, Georgia, and his true love, Joyce Korgan, of Northglenn, Colorado.
