William Healy Sunderland
August 24th, 1946 - May 10th, 2018
Bill entered Paradise Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:30 a.m. He was born in Evanston Illinois on August 24, 1946 to Richard Page and Virginia Healy Sunderland. He is survived by Bonnie F. Sunderland of Edmonds, his wife of 41 years; by his two children Christopher P. Gaustad of Lynnwood, and Cameé Gaustad Weber of Edmonds; Cameés two sons Jade Weber and Cody Weber; and three great-grandchildren Karson, Reagan and Olivia Weber. Other survivors include his two beloved brothers Richard P. Sunderland, wife Sally and two children Mark and Debbie; and Phillip G. Sunderland and children Mari Conont, Anne and David Sunderland. Bill loved people and people groups around the world. He spent his life helping others. He excelled in business and ministry, living in South Korea with Bonnie from 1986-1988 where he organized the Protestant Chapel inside the ’88 Olympic Games. Returning to the States, he co-partnered with Pro Athletes Outreach with Norm and Bobbie Evans of Issaquah, WA. For the next 11 years he travelled the world using sports to spread the Good News. He entered over 60 countries during his ministry career. Bill’s business career included VP of Management & Sales, taking him from Michigan to Wisconsin to Miami to California. He worked in ministry for 10 years in Edmonds as a partner and networker to several coalitions and people groups. His last and final career was the one that was perfect for “Bill in the Bowl” as a realtor with John L. Scott. He excelled quickly under the direction of Craig Forehand and the stellar principles that JLS lived and taught. Again, Bill loved that the world’s peoples were right here in Edmonds and felt privileged to be able to assist them in buying and selling their family homes. He was highly invested in the North South Church and lived his faith and principles in his everyday life. A special thanks to the loving, caring staff at Cancer Care alliance at Northwest Hospital with whom he bonded. In the final weeks of Bill’s life, he was given a priceless gift of a ticket to the Master’s golf tournament. Bill played golf his entire life. If there is no golf in Heaven, Bill won’t care because he “experienced the 18th hole at the Master’s.”
