William J. Takach
February 5th, 1931 - July 2nd, 2018
Takach, William Joseph, of St. Petersburg, passed away on July 2, 2018. He was born in Hudson, NY and came here in 1968 from Beacon, NY. He was a Senior Research Chemist at Jim Walter Research Corporation for 25 years and was a devout member of the Cathedral of St. Jude The Apostle and St. Paul’s Catholic Church where he was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and he served in both the Army and Navy Reserves for 10 years each. He was a loving husband to his wife, Jean, for 63 years; and a beloved father to sons, James W. (Kathleen) Takach, M.D. of Little Rock, AR, Thomas J. (Paige) Takach, Steven A. Takach, and Vincent Takach; one daughter MaryEllen (Bill) Silva, all of St. Petersburg; and a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren; Elizabeth and Robert Strandquist, who adored him and step grandchildren Richard Silva, Carrie Wooddell, and Chad Silva. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at 10 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church 1800 12th St. N. with an inurnment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 11:30am and a reception to follow at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home 7820 38th Ave N.
