William "Scott" Wilson

September 19th, 1964 - March 15th, 2024

Services for William “Scott” Wilson, 59, of Lexington, will be private. Woodridge Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Scott Wilson passed away Friday, March 15, 2024. Born in Stamford CT, he grew up in Norwalk, CT, the younger son of the late John Robert Wilson and Elizabeth Sayre Wilson. Scott was a collector. To him, all things had value. He saw the good in people and beauty in the ordinary. As a teenager, he had wonderful collections of sea shells, coins, and stamps. He also collected awful, bad-taste ties in high school and would wear them to school to amuse everyone. He loved going on walks with his best friend Mr. Finn, where he would stop and pick up any litter he came across. Scott was always cooking for his family- making the world’s best breakfast sandwiches. He has always been hilariously cynical, and he could turn any situation into a joke, knowing the darkness in the world but always making it seem not so bad. He was the kindest, goofiest, most patient father and husband. All he ever wanted in life was to make us laugh. We are grateful for his gentle demeanor and quiet strength. Scott is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 31 years, Kim Lacy Wilson of Lexington SC; son, Corey Scott Wilson of Avon, CO; daughter, Elizabeth “Clarke” Wilson of James Island, SC; sister, Leslie Wilson Light (Matt) of Milford, CT; mother-in-law, Corey Ann Lacy of Lexington, SC; sister-in-law, Pipia Lacy Stutts of Lexington, SC; brother–in-law, Christopher Renwood Lacy (Tiffany) of Lexington, SC; niece, Brittany Ann Lacy of Denver, CO; niece, Ellis Light of Saugerties, NY; nephews, Sean Lamar Stutts of Lexington, SC, Carter Renwood Lacy of Anderson, SC, Garrett Christopher Lacy of Anderson, SC, James Wilson Light of Stratford, CT, Douglas Neal Light of Stratford, CT. In addition to his parents, Scott is predeceased by his brother, Bobby Wilson; father-in-law, Renny Lacy; brother-in-law, Jerome Stutts. The family would like to thank Dr. Chelsea Stillwell and the staff of the 9th floor of Lexington Medical Center for their care and compassion for Scott and his family. The family requests in lieu of flowers, spend some time picking up trash in your community in honor of Scott.

Mr. Scott never had a bad day, and he was always kind and gentle. I’ll never forget how much time he sacrificed for me giving me rides to and from volleyball practices and games with Clarke and Brittany. He always had a smile on his face and was such a goofball. He also made many meals for me too when I would come over. I always appreciated the fact that we sat around the table too. Rest in Peace Mr. Scott, love you!
