Willie McClellan Lambeth Mrs. Lambeth, 93, died peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. She was a resident of Charlotte Square Assisted Living. She was born on August 28, 1918 in Mecklenburg County to the late William M. and Madie Cooke McClellan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Alexander Lambeth and her sister, Martha McClellan Gregory. Mrs. Lambeth was a 1935 graduate of Central High School, Charlotte. She was a charter member of Calvary Church, Charlotte and a member of its women?s Maranatha Bible Class. She worked at Lance Packing Company where she met her husband and was later employed at Belk and Allstate Insurance Company. She was an avid seamstress and quilter. A celebration of life service will be Monday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Dr., Charlotte, NC 28208. The family will receive friends before the service on Monday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM. Mrs. Lambeth is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Judy Hair and husband, Millard, of Concord, Mrs. Sarah Wright and husband, Chip, of Burlington, Mrs. Betty Williams and husband, John of Charlotte, and Mrs. Catherine McCoy and husband, Gary, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Chris Hair, Brian Hair (Pam), Todd Hair (Christy), Bart Wright (Kathryn), Emily Gray (T.K.), Jennifer Miralia (Mark), David Williams (Jody), Brian Williams, Laura Goodyear (Zach) and Patrick McCoy (Caty); and nine great-grandchildren.
