Willis "Bill" D. Addie
August 12th, 1922 - October 30th, 2012
Willis Dean Addie, of Waukesha, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the age of 90 years. He was born on August 12, 1922, the son of Glen and Florence Addie. Bill married the love of his life, Marion Howe, on June 25, 1949. He was raised on a farm and after graduating from the University of Whitewater and briefly working in sales, he started at Waukesha Foundry in Watertown in 1952, and was relocated to the branch in Waukesha in 1956; he then retired in 1984 as a cost accounting supervisor. Bill was a longtime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Waukesha where he was an original member of the "Amigos"; which did handy work around the church. He was also on the counting team for many years and was known at church for his wonderful smile and friendly nature - he always made people feel welcome. Bill was a gentle man and a gentleman. Most of all Bill's greatest joy was spending time with his family, and kept up with all the events in their lives. Willis will be sadly missed by his wife, Marion, of 63 years; children, David Addie of Rowlett, TX and Susan "Sue" Bangle of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Czarniak of Franklin, WI and Jon Bangle of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandchildren, Taylen and Chasen Czarniak; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Addie of Whitewater, WI and Dorothy Addie of Janesville, WI; former son-in-law, Dr. Phillip Bangle; Bill's four-legged friend, Daisy; other relatives and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his five brothers and two sisters. The visitation for Bill will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, November 4, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Gary Liedtke and Rev. Kathy Boadwine will be officiating. Burial will be private at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Luke's Lutheran Church would be appreciated (address above).
