Willis B. Varnadore
May 23rd, 1948 - June 12th, 2007
Mr. Willis B. ?Will? Varnadore, 59, of Gloversville, died suddenly on June 12, 2007. Born May 23, 1948 in Sarasota, Florida, he was the son of Leola ?Pete? Willis Faerber and her husband Ron of Bradenton, Florida and the late Winslow Burton Varnadore. Mr. Varnadore was educated in Sarasota schools and a career Air Force veteran, retiring as Master Sergeant. He served in Korea, Vietnam and under retired General Norman Schwarzkopf as a communications expert with joint forces. He was a member of the Broadalbin American Legion Post 337. Will was currently employed by Qubica AMF Worldwide as east coast technical support for computerized mechanisms for bowling lanes. Well known for his great sense of humor, which he shared with all his family, he especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and doing yard work with his wife and had the pleasure of traveling extensively with her around the country. Will also enjoyed boating and had a longtime love of cars, especially his Corvette. An avid NASCAR fan, he had recently returned from the Pocono race. Survivors include his wife Louella Siegle Varnadore of Gloversville whom he married September 9, 1995, his mother; Leola ?Pete? Willis Faerber and step-father Ron of Bradenton, Florida; two sons, Chad Carrie Herron of Palatine Bridge and Kyle Stacy Herron of Nelliston; a brother, Phil Kathy Varnadore of Florida and three grandchildren: Andrew, Zachary and Cassandra Herron. He is also survived by a nephew, Jeffrey Varnadore, and a niece, Jill Varnadore, aunts and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Amy Varnadore, and a step-father, Lician Bell. A Memorial Service for sharing and fellowship will be held 12 noon Sunday at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 am to noon. The Broadalbin American Legion Post 337 will conduct their ritual prior to the service. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will follow at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 12 Avis Drive, Latham, New York 12110.
