Wilma Jean Hall Farley
March 1st, 1939 - March 4th, 2016
Frankfort, KY Farley, Wilma Jean Hall, 77, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. A fiercely protective mother and the hardest working woman General Electric ever had, Wilma was a kind, opinionated, impatient, sweet and loving woman. She taught her children to be independent, self-reliant and good financial managers while at the same time being their biggest fans. Born in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Ruby Hall, Wilma is survived by her children Sara (John) Elliott and Rick (Robbin) Farley, grandchildren Trisha Watts and Micah Vandgrift and one great-granddaughter, Olive Vandgrift. She is also survived by one brother, Edward (Jennifer) Hall, her ex-husband Darrell (Anne) Farley and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Marjorie and Betty. The center of her world (outside of her children) was Lucy Grace, her cat. A lifetime UK fan, Wilma would always turn the channel if the game got too close-too stressful, she said. She was so excited about the possibility of having a woman president because she always believed that a woman could do anything a man could do-and probably do it better. She was a member of South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, the Frankfort chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Kentucky Historical Society where she was a volunteer. Funeral Information A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at South Frankfort Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
