Obituary Wilma Guenther Krumland, Church and Website Version Wilma Krumland, 95, of Colorado Springs, formerly of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 peacefully at home. Wilma was born March 18, 1921 in Columbus, Nebraska to Mary and Ferdinand Guenther. She was a 1940 graduate of Kramer High School. She was married to Edgar Krumland on September 29, 1940 in Eagle, Nebraska. Most of Wilmas career was spent working her own businesses. She owned and operated Wilmas Coffee Shop and Wilmas Break Room in a manufacturing plant. She enjoyed selling Tupperware, Avon, and Watkins Products. After retirement she created Time Out Babieslife-size dolls lovingly dressed as little toddlers taking a "time out" in a corner for being naughty. Wilma was a sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Wilma was one of 11 siblings and was sometimes tagged as Dads favoritewhich meant she could work outside with the brothers instead of cooking and cleaning with the sisters. Wilma and Edgar were married for 68 years and enjoyed traveling in their motor home, teaching German language classes, polka dancing and spending time with their family. To her children she had an ornery sense of humor: "How did you sleep last night?" "With my eyes closed." Her grandchildren remember her as a wonderful cook and have fond memories of decorating sugar cookies at Christmas just before the sleepover under grandmas Christmas tree. A giver at heart, Wilma was involved in Ladies Aid at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She served the church faithfully as well as tenderly visiting neighborhood shut-ins and the elderly at a nursing home. Wilma was a great cook, and family members were often beneficiaries of their favorite meals. For fun, Wilma enjoyed playing games with her family: Hide the Thimble, croquet, Rummikub, Aggrevation, Yahtzee, sheepshead, racehorse rummy, canasta, games on the carom board, and dominos. The family fondly reminisces some "Wilma-isms" sayings uniquely her own. When a granddaughter cried, she would say, "Youll get better before youre a grandma!" For children struggling with a project, she would say, "Dont think about it, just do it" (and this was pre-Nike!). Wilma was a hard worker and typically would nap in the recliner in the early evening insisting she was "just resting her eyes." If Wilma could address us today, she would say, "I may look like Im sleeping but Im just resting my eyes. I heard every word you said." Im sure you did, Mom. We know youre enjoying Heaven. We look forward to seeing you again. Wilma is survived by her six children, Ron (Judy) Krumland of Fort Worth, TX; Jerry Krumland of Oakland, CA; Linda (Bob) Pacheco, Kathy Krumland, Bob (Deb) Krumland and Debbie (Greg) Eno of Colorado Springs, CO; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Werner; two sisters (Jeannette and Betty). She was preceded in death by husband, Edgar; five brothers (Eddie, Clarence, Ferd, Ted, Fritz); three sisters (Elise, Helen, Mary Ann); one grandson (Edward); and her parents (Mary and Ferdinand).
