Wilma Thompson Price, 104, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully Thursday morning, October 10, 2024. She was born December 12, 1919 in Lancaster, SC, daughter of the late John Calvin and Marjorie Bailey Thompson.

 

Wilma was active in the Steele Creek Community, particularly in Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church where she was a member for over 90 years. Wilma was a talented gardener and wonderful cook. She was a much-loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

 

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James W. Price, sisters: Mamie Gardner and Diane Faust, brothers: Pete, Bob, and Ray Thompson

.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Rhodes (Ed) of Franklinville, NC; son, J. Harold Price of Charlotte; grandchildren: Katie O’Riordan (Rob) of Raleigh and Alex Rhodes (Susanne) of Denver, CO, great-grandchildren: Annie & Patrick O’Riordan and Ellie & Cecelia Rhodes, sister-in-law, Vivian S. Price, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of The Haven and Hospice VIA Health Partners for their thoughtful and loving care.

 

A graveside service will take place at 11:30, Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Steele Creek at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 15000 York Road, Charlotte, NC

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church or to Hospice VIA Health Partners.
