Windy Elizabeth Thomas, 31, passed on peacefully in God's great arms around her last Friday morning, October 3, 2014. She was a beloved member of our local community. An accomplished surfer, academic with multiple degrees from BCC and FIT. She traveled to Europe and attended Oxford and Lacunza University. A brilliant, talented, athletic, loving, and compassionate friend to everyone. She loved her salt life. Raised on boards and in the water, it was always her priority. When we look on the waves, remember those great friends that paddled out with us. She leaves behind her brother, Skipper; parents, Susan and Gordon; grandmother, Ruth; and a host of other important and relevant relatives and family friends that gave her so much of what became her personality. Any one that knew her brilliant shining star was and forever will be impacted by her energy, personality and somebody you wanted to know. Windy will always be unique. There will be a service at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach at 10 AM Saturday, October 11th. A burial ceremony in the Memorial Garden at Our Saviors Catholic Church will immediately follow. A celebration ""paddle out"" of her surfing family will be conducted at the north end of the pier around 1:00pm. Our God teaches that we have the greatest peace in his presence. She is there now, with her Grandfathers, Grandmother, uncle she never knew, and the many of a loving family. She will surf in peace and look for us to join her. Live video feed will start Saturday 11th at 10:00 AM.

My dearest Windy Liz,Oh how my heart sighs heavy in the night from losing you. The times we've shared, the talks we had, the moments we were two ships passing in the night, they are all loving memories of you. I find only comfort knowing you are wrapped up in God's great arms and that He is comforting you. I love you dear cousin. So very much. I pray you are at peace and riding that rip tide. Love always W.E.T.-cousin Jen

My dear cousin, I am still finding it so hard to believe that you're gone and that we won't see you the next time we're down in Florida. I am so glad that Jen, Scott and I got to see you while we were in Florida just two weeks ago. I am comforted knowing that you had a good and positive week and that you were looking forward to a fresh start and surfing on Friday morning. You have an army of friends and family who are missing you deeply but I know you're looking down from heaven and watching over us. Love you Windy Elizabeth Thomas. Rest peacefully in God's great arms, for you are no longer in pain.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I always loved talking to Windy. She made me laugh. I will miss her silly self and I know my daughter Crystal will the rest of her life. I'm so sad for you all. God does have a very special plan for her. My regards, Kathy
