Winirby ?Winnie? Jones Bryce Winnie Jones Bryce, 67, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. She was born June 1, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the only child of Dr. and Mrs. William Winston Jones of Charleston, SC. Both parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Bryce graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School in Charleston, SC at the age of 16. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Queens University of Charlotte. For the last twenty-six years, Mrs. Bryce worked and volunteered at and treasured her Alma Mater, Queens University of Charlotte. She worked as an Office Manager and Assistant Director of Records and International Students before joining Everett Library, where she was a Public Services Specialist. She worked until she entered the hospital for the last time before her death. Mrs. Bryce also gave her time to her community through her outreach efforts to retirees at Sharon Towers and The Cypress, where she read to the residents. She also served on the boards of Latta Plantation and Queens Alumni and trained as Ramses docent at the Mint Museum of Art. Mrs. Bryce leaves behind her husband of nearly 48 years, Collins Lee Bryce; daughters Colletta E. Bryce and Leah C. Bryce (Anthony Brown) of Charlotte, NC; and son Clarence L. Bryce of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; special cousins, John P. Franklin and family of Chattanooga, TN, William Allen Jones (Louise) of Charleston, SC, and Michael McFarland of Detroit, MI, as well as other close relatives and friends. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Queens Sports Complex, 2229 Tyvola Road, Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Queens Fund, Queens University of Charlotte, 1900 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28274, or St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
