Worley Brooks Crowe
September 23rd, 1940 - October 14th, 2019
Worley Brooks Crowe 79, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 14, 2019. Born to the late Virginia McKinney Crowe and Silas Crowe, on September 23, 1940, Worley lived in Northeast Tennessee his entire life. It was here he met and married his wife, Mildred Slaughter Crowe, and helped raise their four children. Worley retired from Holston Defense and was a talented craftsman, having built several homes in Kingsport as well as cabinetry and other woodwork items. He was instrumental in building the Christian Activity Center at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, where he worshiped and served for many years. Worley also loved fishing, watching John Wayne movies, and making apple butter. He was hard-working, generous, and steadfast, in all he did. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Crowe; two brothers, Larry and Paul Crowe; son-in-law, Mark Aldeen Survivors include his children, Debbie Crowe Aldeen, Rick Crowe and wife Gin, Scott Crowe and wife Mindy, and Tony Crowe; grandchildren, Brank (Melanie) Jon (Alyson), April Joy Aldeen, Floyd, Silas (Heather), Joe (Kelly), Nicholas, Timmy (Kristan), Jake Crowe; brothers, Doug (Lee), Claude (Nancy), Sam (Linda), Joe (Dawn) Crowe; sisters, Patsy Sorah, Katherine (Gary) Butler, Helen “Rhee” (Mike) Murray and, Sherry (Bud) Williams; several great-grandchildren as well as his large, extended family and his beloved friend, Joyce Lee. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Bloomingdale Baptist Church from 4pm to 6pm. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Phil Whittemore officiating. The graveside service will be at 11 am on Friday, October 18, 2019 East Lawn Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their loving care. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Crowe family.
