Yehohanan Reu born John Riggins was born to T.Z. and Emma Riggins on December 13, 1944. He was the eighth of 13 children born to this union. In 1954 the Riggins Family moved from the country life in Giddings Texas, to the city life of Seattle Washington. In Seattle Yeho as he was known to close family and friends attended Horrace Mann Elementary School, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1962. Yeho loved sports where he won the Woody baseball award for the Seattle area during his Jr. High year. He began his boxing career when he was 15-16 years of age, and won The Seattle Golden Gloves Welterweight Title as a amateur in the early 60’s. He fought in cities throughout the West Coast (Portland, California, and Las Vegas). He became a professional boxer in the early 70’s. Yeho along with his brothers T.Z. and Leslie Riggins and other close friends started H.O.M.E. a non-profit organization. H.O.M.E. operated as a transitional clean and sober home for ex offenders. He served as Director until his home coming. In the mist of life he experienced challenging events that led him to find spiritual ascendancy. Throughout his ascendancy he fellowshipped with The New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and the Jehovah’s Witness briefly. In the mid 1980’s Yeho who was known as John took on his Hebrew name Yehohanan Iskia Reu. Yehohanan which means gracious and merciful favored by Yahweh. He found his peace in spirituality within the laws of the Bible where he was a faithful servant attending the Feast of Passover, Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles until his homegoing. There are numerous family and friends who cherished Yeho for his personality, charm and winning smile. He will truly be missed by many. He leaves to cherish his memory, Brothers/ Sisters: T.Z. Riggins, Less Riggins, Lee Riggins, James Riggins, Curtis Riggins, And Dawud Malik, Bertha Foster, Evelyn Williams. And a host of Nieces, great nieces; Nephews and great nephews. Adopted Daughter Qetsiyah Yisreal, Husband Alazar Yisrael and grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: Parents - T.Z. and Emma Riggins Sisters - Carol Riggins, Margie Riggins Brother – Robert Riggins Special Family and Friends: The Yisrael Family near and far.
