Yolanda Maria Auman
December 31st, 1923 - July 25th, 2018
Yolanda Maria Auman (Di Cristina Yumet), 94, passed on to be with the Lord on July 25, 2018. “Abi” as she was known by her grandchildren, was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on December 31, 1923 to Eduardo Di Cristina and Maria Yumet. Yolanda was preceded in death by her mother, father, two husbands, Capt. Robert Boucher and Lt. Col Rictor Auman, three brothers, Eduardo, Raphael, and Rene, and one stepson, Rictor Auman. She is survived by three loving children, Sally Titus, Susan Berry (Lee, deceased) and Edward Auman (Nancy), one stepson, Bruce Auman (Penny), nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Other than family and her faith, education was one of the most important things to Yolanda. Yolanda began college when she was 16 years old at the Universidad de Puerto Rico where she graduated with honors with a degree in education, taught for several years at Escuela Superior de Aguadilla, and then studied at the Teachers College of Columbia University in New York City earning a master’s degree in education. Upon returning to Aguadilla she continued teaching and supervised teachers until her marriage to Capt. Boucher. As a military spouse she lived in several air force bases around the country and upon Lt. Col. Auman’s retirement in 1966 settled with him and their children in Florida, where she resumed teaching in Brevard County. Yolanda enjoyed traveling with family and friends, and had several adventures to Europe, Central America, South America and Nova Scotia. She loved visiting her children and grandchildren in Texas and Maine. Yolanda had been a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and the American Red Cross, led the Separated, Widowed and Divorced group of Our Saviour Catholic Church for many years, and enjoyed working at the Our Saviour Catholic Church Fall Fair. Yolanda will be remembered as a happy, fun loving, generous woman who opened her heart and home to everyone. Yolanda’s service will be held Saturday, August 4 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviour Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, Florida. If desired, donations may be made in her honor to Alpha Delta Kappa, 624 Iroquois Street, Merritt Island, Florida 32952 or Health First Hospice, 1131 W.
