Yolanda A. Kameka

Mrs. Yolanda A. Kameka, 90, of Tribes Hill, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 following a brief illness. A lifelong area resident, Yolanda was born on December 20, 1925 the daughter of the late Vincent and Clara Fiore Farina. Mrs. Kameka worked for the Martin J. Dress Company in Amsterdam until her retirement. On November 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Franz, A. "Art" Kameka. That union lasted 64 years until his recent passing on June 14, 2015. She was also predeceased by two twin children, Franz and Amy; and her siblings, Frank, Carlo, Anthony, John, Rachel and Susan. Art and Yolanda were always together, working on their home and being with family. She was an avid fan of the Mets, the Knicks and the Jets. She also enjoyed playing BINGO. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Mark S. Kameka and his wife Deborah of Tribes Hill; two grandchildren, Amy Beth Blowers and her husband Jason and Steven Kameka and his wife Elise; two great grandchildren Ethan and Makenna Blowers; her siblings, Mary Josephine Marotta, Adaline Somers and Vincent Farina; several nieces, nephews A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Tribes Hill, NY with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4 until 7p.m. at the funeral home.
