Yvette C. Gellatly, who would be 90 next month, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Port Charlotte, under Hospice care on Monday, May 12, 2014. She was born on June 14, 1924 in Manchester, NH. She moved to Florida in 2001 from Connecticut. She worked as an Executive Secretary for many years and as a seamstress. She graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School as an LPN, working at Bridgeport Hospital. Yvette was a very kind and loving person who loved her family. She was a caregiver to her late husband John for 25 years. Mrs. Gellatly resided at River Commons living facility for several years and made many good friends and enjoyed living there. Survivors include her four children, Linda (Fred) Dragone; Bruce (Cathy) Gellatly of Cooper City, FL; Michael Gellatly and his partner Tilly Strauss of Miami; Janet Gellatly of San Francisco, CA; one sister, Bernice (Bob) Guman of Fairfield, CT; five grandchildren: Annette Whiting, Marianne Chechoski, Michael Gellatly, Kylie and Luke Gellatly and four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc.1144 Veronica St. Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
