Yvonne Marie Sholes Archer, age 72, of Church Hill, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. She was a retiree of the Intermountain Telephone Company with 30+ years of service. Yvonne enjoyed growing flowers, watching sports, cooking meals for her family, online shopping, solving crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends during holidays and family gatherings. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Helen Sholes of Glade Springs, VA; and brother, Greg Sholes of Glade Springs, VA. She is survived by her loving husband of 49+ years, Michael Archer; 2 daughters, Michelle Archer and Patricia Archer; 5 grandchildren, Hannah McDavid, Hunter McDavid, Kaitlyn Stanley, Amelia Chapman and Chance Chapman; great-grandson, Sammy McDavid; 3 brothers, Tim Sholes (Stella), Ronnie Sholes (Melissa) and Gary Sholes; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held for Yvonne at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill with Pastor Randy Presnell officiating. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill is proudly serving the Archer family.
