Yvonne E. Remillard

Yvonne E. "Bonnie" Remillard, 68, of Galway NY., Passed away on Friday December 25th, 2015 after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was a very strong and courageous woman who always had her family by her side. Born in Front Royal Virginia, on October 22nd, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William Doepel and Gwendolyn Doepel. Yvonne graduated high school in Raleigh North Carolina. Shortly after which she relocated to Galway NY. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Francis Remillard. Yvonne was very nurturing and dedicated over 10 years to caring for patients at the former Amsterdam Memorial Hospital in Amsterdam NY, as a certified nurse's aide. She dedicated most of her adult life to helping others. Yvonne cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She loved spending time on the beach, going to church, music by Elvis Presley and loved being in the company of her family. She will be deeply missed by all her knew her. Yvonne is survived by her daughters; BilliJo (Sean) Potkovic-Dolton, BobbiJo (Pat) Potkovic, and Tammie (Dylan) Potkovic, her mother Gwendolyn Doepel, her sisters; Nancy Cox and Ginger DeBruyn, her brothers; John Doepel and Dwayne Doepel, her grandchildren; Craig (Fae) Armer, Marcellus Luck Jr., Schuyler Dolton, Zachary Dolton, Ethan Stearns, and Elizabeth Dolton, a great granddaughter, Alice Armer, and Marcellus "Big Mark" Luck who was like a son to her. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Yvonne is also predeceased by her sister Deadra Doepel, and her brothers; Albert and Chester Beatty, Thomas Doepel, and Dwight Doepel. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday December 31st from 4-7pm at the West Galway Presbyterian Church, 2972 Co Hwy 107 Amsterdam NY, 12010. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution in honor of Yvonne may be made to the family to assist in the medical expenses incurred.
