Zackary Daniel Brownell

Zackary Daniel Brownell, 40, of Amsterdam, passed away Sunday February 9, 2020, following a long illness at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on February 18, 1979. He was a 1997 graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School. He is survived by a daughter, Emma Brownell of Matthews, N.C., son, Liam Brownell of Prescot, AZ and a step-daughter Casey Roosma of Matthews, N.C. He is also survived by and is the son of Kathy and Bill Pepe of High Point, N.C. and Mark and Amy Brownell of Tribes Hill, NY. Two brothers, Joshua (Lindsey Gindoff) Brownell and Mark (Heather Blaha) Brownell. Sisters, Melissa (Marco) Zumbolo of Gloversville, NY and Bethany (Chase) Horton of North Carolina. His grandmother, Marion Coasta of Fultonville, NY. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Zackary during his lifetime has been employed by the Surveying Company of Charlotte, N.C, he also worked construction doing concrete work in N.C. and worked as a private contractor doing concrete here in NY state. He last worked as an armed security guard for the Peeler Group in Fonda, NY. He was very artistic and was a self-taught guitar player. He enjoyed being with his family. Zackary was also a member of the Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Friday February 14, 2020 at 5:00PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, with Rev. Thomas J. Flander Jr. presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 3:00 to 5:00PM at the funeral home. The Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a service at 4:45PM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
