It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan (Heady) Johnson, age 67, who departed this life on May 31, 2024, at Frankfort Regional Hospital in Frankfort, Kentucky. Born on August 17, 1956, in Frankfort to the late William and Jean (Graves) Heady, Susan embodied grace, kindness, and an enduring spirit that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.Susan was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was caring for and spending time with her family. She was united in marriage to Rickey Wayne Johnson, sharing countless cherished moments and building a life filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Andrea (Steve) Turner and Erica (Brandon) Toles, who were the light of Susan's life. Susan’s favorite role was “Nana” where she found immense joy in the relationships she cultivated with her beloved grandchildren, Landon Toles and Kaylee Turner. She often spoke of their kindness and the special bond they shared. She was very present in their lives, supporting their accomplishments with academics as well as attending their sporting events. Her love extended beyond her immediate family. Susan also loved sitting on her front porch, reading a book, and tending to her flowers. She retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky after working 30 plus years.Susan is survived by her sister Kathy (Mike) Lewis, mother-in-law Bernice Johnson, brother-in-law Glenn (Dede) Johnson, sister-in-law Donna (Buddy) Howard, multiple nieces and nephews, and many more family and friends.Susan was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother; Roger Heady, and father-in-law; Cecil Johnson.A ceremony to honor Susan's life will be held at the Clark Legacy Center, located at 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601 at 1:00 p.m. on June 4, 2024. Family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing Susan are invited to gather and celebrate her life. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 after 11:00 a.m. until time for services at the funeral home. Burial will be follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.Susan Johnson’s legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends. Although she has moved on from this world, her spirit, kindness, and love remain a guiding force for those she left behind. May she rest in peace, forever in our thoughts and prayers.
