"Palmer- Eugene C. Nunes, 80, of State St. in the Bondsville section of Palmer, died, Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, MA on May 31, 1926, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Fernandes) Nunes. Gene was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He retired in 1991 after owning and operating Gene’s Cleaning Service for 21 years with his late wife, Anita. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Anita (Gignac) Nunes in 1997. He is survived by two daughters Carolyn Zobka and her husband Francis of Belchertown, and Linda Ugraz and her husband Ilhan of Three Rivers. He also leaves five brothers Edward of Framingham, Emery of Norfolk, Ernest and Edmond both of Westport, and Ellery of Rehoboth. He also leaves two grandsons, Scott Czupryna of Stafford Springs, CT, and Christopher Czupryna of Belchertown and two great grandchildren, Tyler Czupryna of Ware, and Corrine Czupryna of Belchertown. A Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:15 a.m. from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Anne’s Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the mass from 9:15-10:15a.m. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016"
