Sharon Sungran Kim

On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Sharon Sungran Kim passed away peacefully after a brave, year-and-a-half long battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer. She was 59 years old. She was surrounded by loved ones in her final moments and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristen and her son-in-law, Dan. Sharon will also be fondly remembered by her two grandchildren, Quincy and Warren. Sharon was born on November 10, 1963 in Incheon, South Korea. She graduated from Sunin High School in Incheon and married her husband, Richard Kim, in 1986. Sharon worked in the garment industry in Los Angeles, upon immigrating to the U.S. in 1997. In 2017, Sharon moved to McLean, VA to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Sharon was a doting grandmother and loved children. She ran a daycare prior to her illness. Sharon’s favorite pastimes were spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending and serving at her church. A Funeral Service in her memory will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., at the Advent Funeral Home, 7211 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA, with Pastor Edwin Lim officiating. Sharon was baptized at the Full Gospel Church in Incheon in 1987. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25
