Vito M. Decosmo

"Belchertown, Vito M. Decosmo, 82, died at home on Monday, March 22, 2010. Born in Springfield MA on May 18, 1927 he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Angelina Decosmo. He lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Harvard, MA and eventually relocating back to this area. Vito was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII. He was an accomplished gardener /caretaker for many years and in his retirement enjoyed chair caning. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Carol Goss and her husband Bill of San Diego, CA and Lynne Decosmo of Encinitas, CA along with his brother Benedetto and wife Trudy of Hampden, his sister Marie Register and husband Ernie of TX. His granddaughter Jazmin, and many nieces and nephews survive him. A memorial service with military honors will be on Friday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. at The Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home are handling funeral arrangements. Donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
