"Palmer-Harriet M. (Lostrappo) Sakowski, 82, passed away October 5, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Italy February 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Angelina (Ventresco) Lostrappo. Harriet moved to the United States at the age of 12, and resided in Ware. For the past 40 years, she has lived in Palmer with her husband. She previously worked for the former Westinghouse Electric in Springfield and retired from Thorndike Mills after many years of employment. Harriet loved flowers and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. She leaves her loving husband of 54 years, John, and her devoted children David St. John of Wellesley, MA, John Sakowski of Boston, MA and Donna and her husband Michel Bergeron of Monson. Harriet will also be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, Jessica St. John, Kristoffer and Ashleigh Bergeron and a sister Lorretta Zebrowski of Palmer. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Linda St. John in 2002. A funeral service will take place from Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to National Kidney Foundation of Massachusetts, 11 Vandervilt Suite 105, Norwood, MA 02602. "
