"Belchertown - Ronald E. Lakota, 74, passed away on February 28, 2018. Born January 16, 1944 in Springfield, MA, son of Walter and Elaine (Rivest) Lakota. Ron has lived in Belchertown most of his life and owned Quabbin Construction Company. Previously he was an Iron Worker and member of the Iron Workers Union. Ron loved spending summers working the farmers market with his grandson Cody. He also loved his dogs, horses and racing. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Enes (Parent) Lakota, two children, Ron Lakota and wife Amber of West Brookfield and Karen Clark and husband Bruce of Belchertown. He also leaves two brothers, Walter "Sonny" Lakota, Jr. of Belchertown, Richard Lakota of Springfield and four grandchildren, Cody and Anthony Clark, Morgan and Mason Lakota and many nephews and a niece. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother William Lakota, Sr. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
