Paul R. Tibbetts
July 3rd, 1943 - January 11th, 2019
"Palmer - Paul R. Tibbetts, 75, died on January 11, 2019 at his home with the love of family surrounding him following a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 3, 1943 in Worcester, he was the son of Raymond and Barbara (Gauch) Tibbetts. He came to Palmer at the age of 13 and was a graduate of Palmer High School, where he excelled in baseball, skilled as a pitcher, and football. He was an US Army Veteran, serving in the Military Police as a canine officer. Paul worked as a tool & die designer for Zero, Avery Dennison and lastly for Specialty Loose Leaf in Holyoke. He held a few patents in the field. Paul loved the Lord and was part of Bible Standard Ministries. In his leisure, Paul enjoyed fishing on Quabbin, and local ponds and lakes. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Patricia (Misiaszek) Tibbetts, two sons, Paul R. Tibbetts, Jr. of Palmer, and Edward A. Tibbetts of Springfield, along with his 4 siblings Gail A. Herbst and Lois Hastings and her husband William all of Ware, Arline Stred and her husband Winston of Palmer, and Raymond "Buzzy" Tibbetts and his wife Brenda of Hudson, FL. Additionally, his brother in law Tom Misaiszek and wife Helene also survive him along with his nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother Randy. A calling hour will be Wednesday, January 16 from 10:00 - 11: 15 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:15. Burial with military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. at MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. For those wishing to honor his memory, the family requests donations may be made to D'Amour Cancer Center, 3350 Main St, Springfield, 01107, or Bible Standard ministries, 1156 St. Matthews Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425-2700 .
