Donald "Sonny" Hardy
October 28th, 1950 - August 3rd, 2020
It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce Donald “Sonny” Hardy, born October 28th, 1950 to George and Selma in Irvine, Kentucky succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving family on August 3, 2020. Donald is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janet, step-daughters Melinda White (Michael), Kathie Mangione (Greg), Renee Gibson (Jason), step-son Kris Ellis (Kim), brothers Ronald and Jerry, sisters Darlene, Janet, Rachel, Donna, and Deloris as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by both parents, as well as siblings Wayne, Charlotte, Ernest, and Mildred. He was a hardworking man who liked to stay busy and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to tinker in his shed, help neighbors with yard work, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping. A special thank you to the people at MSA Hospice for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to South Carolina Cremation Society for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time. Visitation will take place at Woodfield Park Baptist Church on Thursday, August 6, 2020, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following.
