Christine Jeanette Hines

Christine Jeanette Hines, 50 of Arlington VA, passed away on January 8, 2017. Chris worked many years as an accountant for Premiere Travel in both Tysons and DC. Chris was born in 1966 to Leon and Alice Hines, of Manassas, VA. Chris was a stubborn, yet caring, independent and incredibly strong woman, whose love of her boys showed in all she did. She enjoyed watching them in all their sports, from football and baseball to track and field and everything in between. She was always there for them no matter what they needed, day or night. She loved sports and especially her Pittsburgh Steelers. Her love of children showed when she took in family friends, Sean Donnelly and Jessica Peeples, and made them one of her own. From day one, her grandsons became the light of her world. They always brought a smile to her face, even though she couldn’t physically see them after losing her eyesight, due to complications from diabetes. Her smile was brightened yet once more when she finally got her girl in May, something she dreamt of for so long. She is preceded in death by her sister Jennifer Hines and brother Richard Hines. She is survived by her significant other, Regis Diethorn of Arlington; four sons Regis (Carrie) Diethorn, Jr., Daniel “DJ” Diethorn, Christopher “Cat” Diethorn and Jonathan “J” Diethorn; her 3 grandchildren Riley Diethorn, Carter Diethorn and Paityn Diethorn. She is also survived by her siblings, Cathy McCarthy, Mark Hines, Michael Hines, Laurie Hudson and Maureen Tickle. The family will receive family and friends from 6pm-8pm Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Advent Funeral and Cremation Services, Falls Church VA. A service will be held at 1:30pm Friday, January 13, 2017 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Arlington VA. Interment will follow at Columbia Gardens Cemetery.
