David F. Brannon
September 30th, 1934 - August 12th, 2011
David Franklin Brannon, 76, was born in Charlotte, NC to Joseph and Doris Brannon. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1953 to 1961, and he held sales positions with Frigidaire Corporation in Charlotte. He married Diane Steen in Hamlet, NC, in 1970 and both relocated to Cocoa Beach. Graduating from Brevard Community College in 1979 with a degree in Real Estate, David worked for 22 years at Cape Canaveral Hospital in the Purchasing Dept and later in Plant Operations. In 1978, David joined the community of believers at Our Saviour's Catholic Church. He volunteered for many years as equipment manager and umpire for Cocoa Beach Little League Baseball, and was a member of the Cocoa Beach Elks lodge. He dedicated his life to his family first, and completed every project with craftsmanship, quality, and skill. There was always a smile on his face, every person he met was a friend, and he helped anyone in need. Preceded in death by J.W. Brannon his eldest brother, and sisters, Myrtle McLaughlin and Elaine Beaty, David is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Diane Steen Brannon, brother Leonard (Emma) Brannon of Lancaster, SC, daughter Tamra (Michael) Gay of Winter Park, sons David (Melina) Brannon of Deltona and Derek (Fabiola) Brannon of Cape Canaveral, and grandchildren Austin, Parker, Dylan, Douglas, Joshua, and Julia, nephews George & Perry Burkholder, J.J. & Joe Brannon, nieces Jane McLaughlin & Shari White, and many great nephews and nieces who dearly loved their Uncle David. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Wednesday, Aug. 17th at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, Aug. 18th at Church of Our Saviour in Cocoa Beach. In lieu of flowers, David would want you to support Shriner's Hospitals for Children or the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Saviour's Catholic Church.
