November 30th, 1925 - October 10th, 2011
Karolynne Karla Gabik, 85, passed away peacefully at her home on October 10, 2011 with her faithfull companion, her cat ""Tiger"" at her side. Karolynne and twin Carl were born at home in Santa Ana, California, November 30, 1925 to Joseph and Rosa Koral. They were the youngest of ten children. Karolynne is preceded in death by her first husband, Jack E. Kenny, her high school sweetheart killed during WWII. George, her husband of 63 years, her beloved daughter Karla Dean Selvidge. Survived by her sons Koral Gabik(Diane), Joel Gabik (Cathy), Seven grandchildren and Nine great grandchildren and son-in-law Billy Selvidge. Life in the military (U.S.A.F.) took the family to bases all over the U.S. and Japan. George was transferred to Patrick Air Force Base in 1958, and retired from the Air Force in 1961. Karolynne always said ""I'm so glad we landed here"", the family stayed in Florida after George retired from the Air Force, and he worked in the Space Program from 1961-1986. Karolynne and George were instrumental in bringing the American Junior Bowling Congress (AJBC), and the Women's Bowling Congreee (WBC) to South Brevard. She was very involved with their son's sports and supported the cheerleading squad at Satellite High School. When driving east on the Pineda she would always beat you to the punch and say ""I see the ocean first"", and always mentioned that the clouds were so beautifull ""you could eat them with a spoon"". She loved gardening in her yard, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Stories about her antics and humor are a legacy that won't soon be forgotten by her family or friends. If so moved, the family would appreciate friends making memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
